Have you ever wanted to see the world from a more personal perspective, traveling to destinations that your travel agent has never heard of?  Have you dreamed of rafting through jungles or backpacking your way along a foreign coast line?   Have you already traveled to other countries but found yourself locked into tourist traps and wondered "how can I experience the true culture of this world"?    These are symptoms of the modern tourist who has not learned to escape their own comfort zone.   A professional Travel Companion is the solution.

My name is Gene Tewksbury.  I chose to become a Travel Companion / Travel Guide to impart my love of culture and adventure onto others, encouraging them to open their minds and hearts to a better travel experience. I truly desire to help people experience the life changing benefits of travel.  Personal travels in 17 countries (and counting) plus nearly every state in the USA has given me a rich background with which to coordinate the most exciting travel experience of your life.

What is a Travel Companion?  My role as your Travel Companion will differ depending on your needs; however, in most cases I will accompany you on your travels as your personal vacation tour guide, trip planner, researcher, errand runner, friend and all around problem solver.  I have the experience and knowledge to lead a flexible and adventurous travel vacation.  You will not only enjoy your vacation more, but you will expand your comfort zone allowing you to engage yourself in all that a country has to offer.  It is very important to know that I do not receive commissions or payments of any kind from services, accommodations or transportation we may use.  My recommendations will always be made based on creating the best experience for you. • Quality Travel Experience -  From my perspective this is the most important reason to hire me as your travel escort.  There simply is no substitute for experience.  Experience is what keeps you out of trouble and gets you into fun.  It's what gives you the courage to take the road less traveled without taking unnecessary risks. I have the experience and the desire to make this kind of travel adventure happen for you.
• Companionship - Many people simply do not wish to travel alone.  They may not know anyone interested in going, or friends and spouses may simply be forced to stay home due to work or other obligations.  Having a companion to share the experience can make your trip much more rewarding.  Other people simply don't enjoy traveling with their friends or family.  They find themselves unable to do what they want, when they want without conflict.  A travel companion is there for you.  You're the boss, allowing you to enjoy your vacation on your terms.
• Increased Safety - Often single travelers will hire a companion to escort them because of safety concerns.  Depending on the country you are traveling, an inexperienced traveler can stand out as an easy target for crime and harassment.  Women travelers often have a particularly hard time traveling alone as they gravitate much unwanted attention.  Even experienced female travelers can have a difficult time in some areas.
• Group Planning - When you get several people together for a vacation, you always get more hassles.  There are more things to plan out, more errands to run, more things going wrong which leads to less time doing what you came for.   A group travel companion acts more like a full time tour guide making sure that everything is going smoothly.  In addition my skills as a travel photographer allow me to document the entire vacation with professional quality imagery, without everyone having to run around with cameras taking snapshots.  With the split costs this makes for a very affordable luxury.
• Assisted Travel - the elderly often wish to vacation and travel a more adventurous path, but need additional assistance that simply is not available outside the normal tourist areas.   Additionally health concerns force some to stay home as they simply cannot risk being alone in case of injury or illness.
• Business Assistant -  Conferences and conventions can be overwhelming on a business traveler's schedule.   Often the business person must be in "several places at once" for days on end.   Using my services can save huge amounts of time by acting as a full time assistant.  Running errands, helping with meetings, full time chauffeur, expediting meals and planning/researching quality use of your limited free time. (I have eight years experience as a business owner which can come in handy)
